OLIENA - 1st STAGE - THE CREST

30 km 2320 D+

The Supramonte of Oliena stretches from the locality of Sos Prados to the summit of the Monte Corrasi, from the Punta di Sos Nidos up to the Badde su Tuo. Famed for its limestone, it is home to the famous Nurra de Sas Palumbas, a cave of remarkable importance for its wildlife. Monte Corrasi is the highest peak in the whole range with its 1463 m above sea level.
It is characterised by a bare and rocky environment with peculiar geo-morphological elements such as its karstic plains, rutted fields, caves, abysses, steeples and pinnacles of the strangest forms.

ORGOSOLO - 2nd STAGE - THE FOREST

38 km 2200 D+

The Supramonte of Orgosolo stretches from Funtana Bona to the calcareous Monte Fumai (1316 m), to Monte Novo San Giovanni, one of the most panoramic areas in Sardinia. This area of the Supramonte is characterised by grandiose karstic phenomena. The doline of Su Sercone, a wide calcareous abyss around 200 m deep, within which grow centuries-old yews is certainly worthy of attention. Another remarkable beauty is the forest of Sas Baddes-Nuraghe Mereu, considered to be the only extended area of holm oak forest in Europe, having never been felled.

URZULEI - 3rd STAGE - THE CANYON

41 km 1300 D+

The Supramonte of Urzulei constitutes the wildest part of the whole mountainous chain. The water that cuts its way trought the mountains with its strength offers remarkable panoramic views and contributes to making the rich territory of tall verdant brush with bushy bushes and rare junipers. The fauna is rich in mouflons, wild boars, martens and dormice. A much aspired-to destination of excursionists in this part of the Supramonte is the Codula di Luna:  without overly large drops, it goes softly down towards large walls that house coloured oleanders.
The subsoil is rich in caves. The most well known is that of Su Palu, over 35 km long, that constitutes one of the longest ipogean extensions in Europe.

DORGALI - 4th STAGE - THE SECRET CAVE

35 km 2200 D+

The Supramonte of Dorgali falls among the valleys of the Flumineddu and the Cedrino and also contains the basin of the Lanaittu. On the border with the valley of Lanaittu a steep calcareous mountain rises, that was home, inside an enormous doline, to the spectacular Nuragic village of Tiscali. The gorge of "Su Gorroppu" is remarkable: deep and narrow, it separates the Barbagia from the Ogliastra. It is a splitting between the calcareous mountains of Dorgali and those of Oliena and it makes a favourite shelter for rare species of birds of prey. It extends as far as the coast up to Cala Luna with characteristic examples of calcareous rocks, smoothed walls and large fissures.
